It’s the moment that reality fans across Australia have been waiting for.
After 35 episodes full of matches, fractures, drama and intrigue, Married At First Sight is set to reach its nail-biting conclusion this week.
A teaser for the show’s Final Vows episodes, which will air this Sunday and Monday, gives quite a telling insight into which couples will stay together after the cameras stop rolling.
The trailer shows the remaining couples walking to the altar once again to the strains of the emotional Dean Lewis track, With You.
After his marriage to Carina Mirabile was all but scuttled during Wednesday’s dramatic dinner party, the teaser showed beleaguered groom Paul Antoine reduced to tears.
As the tears flow freely down his face, an emotional Carina can be heard off camera.
‘Paul I was yours,’ Carina says.
‘You had me, and you ruined it.’
Meanwhile, Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly have had quite the rocky road throughout the experiment to say the least.
And their war of words does not stop when the couple step to the altar once more.
Ever the hopeless romantic, Jacqui’s final words to her groom seem to have Ryan lost for words.
‘Ryan, I am not a rehabilitation centre,’ Jacqui bizarrely states.
Jacqui’s statement has trouble landing with Ryan who can be seen shaking his head in disbelief.
Laughing, Ryan replies; ‘I’m sorry, that’s ridiculous, but got on.’
It’s also not looking too good for Adrian Araouzou and Awhina Rutene, with the bride sporting a downcast expression as she makes her way to the altar.
It’s not all heartbreak, however, with Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels looking very loved up.
‘I am falling in love with you,’ a beaming Jeff says to Carina.
‘And I hope this is forever.
Jamie Marinos and Dave Hand also appear to have quite the romantic moment with the pair heartily embracing.
‘You’ve genuinely made my life better just by being in it,’ Jamie can be heard saying.
A dramatic dinner party on Wednesday set the stage for what promises to be must-see TV.
The entire cast turned on Paul as they took him to task over his ‘infidelity’ during the Final Challenge.
It appears that Paul’s ‘curiosity’ might have been the final nail in the couple’s relationship coffin.
‘Paul’s actions have definitely made me question our relationship. It’s draining. you just want to sleep. I feel completely disrespected and embarrassed,’ Carina said.
She added that she was finding it hard to forgive Paul especially after past indiscretions including dramatically punching a hole in their bedroom door during an argument.
‘I don’t think there’s any coming back from this. I forgave him for other things that happened in the experiment. That was a big one for me,’ she said.
The Dinner Party grilling took an emotional toll on Paul and, by the time the meal was over, he appeared to accept his fate.
‘I guess I got what I deserved,’ he said.
Married At First Sight will return on Sunday at 7.00pm on Channel Nine and 9Now.
